Location
Kirkgate market faces Vicar Lane and the southern face of Kirkgate.
Leeds City bus station is to east, while to the north is Victoria Gate. To the south of the open market is the NCP multi-storey car park. From across Vicar Lane, the markets are connected to Briggate via the Victoria Quarter.
Opening hours
Monday to Saturday, our doors are open from 8am until 5.30pm.
Access
Local and regional buses heading out of the city centre, as well as long-distance National Express coaches, stop at Leeds City bus station to the rear of the complex. First Leeds buses stop at various points on the bus-box of which Vicar Lane is a part. The Vicar Lane and Markets car park are situated close-by.
Parking
The nearest car park is the NCP New York Street Car Park. Download the ParkPass App before parking to save money on your parking. The car park has a number of accessible parking bays.

On street parking with accessible bays can be found on Cross York Street (opposite the Co-op) and George Street (opposite John Lewis).

There is a taxi rank at the side of the outdoor market on George Street (opposite John Lewis).
Bus
The nearest bus station is located to the south of Leeds Kirkgate Market less than two minutes walk. All major bus routes pass through Leeds Bus Station from local, regional and national destinations.
Bus timetables are displayed on screens in the market. One situated at the doorway leaving to New York Street, one at the doorway on Row J (opposite John Lewis), one at the doorway leading out to the NCP car park.
Rail
The nearest railway station is Leeds City Railway Station, located in the city centre ten minutes walk away through the Leeds retail district. All major local, regional and national lines pass through this station.

Entrances
There are fourteen entrances to the market all of which are automated. The whole of the market is on one level and our units/stalls are wheelchair accessible.
Accessible toilets
There is an accessible toilet in both the male and female bathrooms. Facilities in the toilets include rails at the sides of the toilet and basin, emergency alarms and are also Stoma friendly. These toilets are RADAR key operated. Leeds Kirkgate Market has a Changing Places facility. This is located on the ground floor within an external building attached to the indoor market (opposite John Lewis) on George Street. The key for the Changing Places facility can be obtained from the Community and Library Hub in the 1981 hall near the central bathrooms. There is a separate baby changing facility opposite the main toilets with chairs for feeding.
Quiet space
There is a quieter space within the market on Row J (access opposite John Lewis on George Street). The space has a bench to rest and fully wheelchair accessible picnic benches for use. Customers of the food hall are welcome to bring their food to this area to eat.
